MeMe at Agility Class | |||
Thankfully Tuesday with MeMe was not nearly as exciting as Monday with Marqi or Wednesday with Chopin! I don't think I could take three days of the fun and excitement that Marqi and Chopin like to dish out. However, Tuesdays with MeMe is very satisfying to my soul. MeMe works completely off lead and has Miss Samba's work ethic. That translates to a very nice quick worker who tries very hard to do what I ask. We started the eveing off taking a jump and then sending to the tunnel without we, the handlers, actually going to the tunnel entrance. We did that because we were trying to drive the dogs into the tunnel and then slide left to front cross the jump that was 10' to the left of the tunnel entrance. When the dog came out of the tunnel we were to call them to that jump and then send them on the rest of the course. That was an easy assignment for Miss Me. After that we went to the weave poles and worked on entering the weave poles from oblique angles. MeMe has been having trouble with her weave pole entrances but tonight the lightbulb went on and she found them. Even when the tire was introduced and they had to do tire, turn left and then weave she found the entrance and went through them. The last series of the eveing was the longest. We had to do the tire, drive to the teeter, then to the table and do a down. From there we had to take a bar jump, drive to the tunnel, have me slide across to the bar jump 15' to the right, call her to take that jump, then send her to the jump she took before the tunnel, only now the other way, then pull left to take the last jump. MeMe did it all w/o any mistakes. I will never have the fun and funny stories with MeMe that Chopin and Marqi routinely provide but I'm telling you there is something so wonderful about working her and being with her. She is very soothing to my soul. |
