I took Marqi to her first conformation class tonight. She just came to watch. There is an empty ring between the two they use to train in so I had her in that ring. That was a great idea because she got to watch a variety of breeds go running by her but there were ring bars between. She got to meet two Dal puppies who were born on the same day. She didn't like the bitch pup at all but she flirted madly with the dog pup, batting her eyelashes and playbowing to him. When he moved closer to her she'd dance backward away from him going, "Oh noooo, I really didn't want to play THAT close to you." She trotted around the ring like a professional showdog with her head up and her tail up just as happy as a clam. Stacking is a bit of an issue but I'm sure she'll get it. I was just happy that she wasn't intimidated at all.
OTH, MeMe wigged out in a big way when she turned around in the line up and saw the Mastiff behind her! I stacked her up and she kept trying to turn to see the dog behind her. I cracked the class up when I said to her, "Don't turn around. Remember Sodom and Gomorrah and what happened to Lot's wife when she turned around!" The class laughed and really laughed when MeMe turned, saw the Mastiff and nearly jumped out of her skin.
